Bush gets to screeam WAR!

Last Up date on: 2003 November 14
I worte this 1:AM on September 22, 2001 After I had watched television all day. And saw George W. Bush screaming "WAR" this is "WAR". I decided today Fri 03-04-04 17:45:27 to make a web page of it.

The 2001 September 11 attack on the New York World Trade Center has caused many of us to ponder on what type of motivation it takes to make a person so dedicated to his "cause" that he is willing to kill others and even himself; and in some way feel he is "doing good".

I guess I will never understand why so many humans are willing to kill and possibly make the supreme sacrifice. They seem to never question why those who tell them what they must do, but never expose themselves to any of the risk or dirty work. Furthermore, they even volunteer and call themselves "patriotic", and most of their society cheers and calls them brave and heroic.

Realistically, there is no difference between those who agree to high jack an airliner and use it to kill as many as possible; or those who get into a military vehicle and use it to bomb, shoot, kill as many as possible. Both are "just doing their job" for their people and their cause. (You may say, "But they attacked". If you lived in Afghanistan you would know you were attack by American war planes with Cruise Missiles just a few years ago. The same if you lived in Libya, or Iraq. Can you name any country that has done more bombing in your lifetime than the USA?)

I used to have a bumper sticker which said: "Suppose they gave a War and nobody came". Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everybody would simply refuse to kill others they have never known.

When I lived in New Jersey, and worked at RCA, I worked with a fellow who was put into an American Concentration Camp during WW II simply because he said: "I won't shoot someone who has never done anything to me or anybody else, but was simply born in a different country than I". That attitude, because it was his and not part of some religious teaching disqualified him from being a "Conscientious Objector" and classified him as a "Traitor". Sad, so sad. I believe he was right and fortunately survived.

What happened in New York was a terrible tragedy that should have never happened. It was a "Tragedy", or call it "Sabotage". But, it was not a War. No more than "The War on Poverty" or "The War on Drugs" are Wars. The term "War" is simply used for sensationalism, and to arouse fear, hate and emotion. But, sadly, experience has shown that when a United States president jacks up emotion and uses the military to kill innocent people his public approval ratings skyrocket.
