It turns out that it is more difficult to update my Web Pages on the road than I had anticipated. I spend most of today Mon 02-12-30 in Ajo trying to put a new page on my web site. There is a nice Library in Ajo, AZ and they let me set at a table using my laptop. (It turns out that is not that easy to do in my van because during the day there is so much light, unless I put up a dark curtain, which I did to create the "Santa Claus" web page, that I can't see what is on the screen. And at night it is so dark I can't see the markings on the keys, which I need for such things as the arrow and function keys. I am doing this at 16:43:38 military time, and it will be light enough until about 6 PM to use the computer.

I have spent the last few days since X-mass camping at the same spot. (For the GPS readers the Lat/Lon is in the above heading.) It has been warm enough to be comfortable hiking shirt sleeves from about 10 AM till 4:30 PM. I take a GPS hike almost every day. Yesterday, I walked far enough away that the GPS said the straight line distance to my van was 2.55 miles. It registered 2.8 miles on the way back.

On yesterday's hike I saw what would be a "dream camping setup" for me. I talked for about an hour with the guy who owns it. It is actually a trailer but its bottom is a rigid boat hull, not flat but a very shallow V-hull. Unlike a pontoon boat his floor is at approximately the water level. The one he has was made in Arkansas. The name of the company has changed since he got his, but he thinks it is "Nomad Boat" or something similar. His is 25 1/2 feet long over all. He has had it on almost every lake I could mention. He has had it for about two years, and is very happy with it. From the side it looks like a travel trailer with about a four foot deck on the bow and a similar deck on the stern. He camps about half the time on the water.

I was really impressed and will have to see what I can find like it on the internet. There is a big RV show going on in Quartzite. I wonder if that company would have anything there. Final point: I didn't have courage enough to ask what it costs.

It is now 16:58:37 and it is getting too dark to see my keys, so I will end here for now.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, almost too warm. I would guess it was upper 70's. Yesterday afternoon I had a couple gallons of warm water in the solar thing, so I hung it up in a dead tree as high as I could reach and had a good shower. I am far enough out from other RVers that I didn't feel I was putting on too much of a show.

Today has been about the same except there has been about a 5 to 10 mile/hour wind which makes it feel cooler. I just came back from about an hour hike and it was just about right for walking.

My two week camping limit is up tomorrow, so I think I will go into either Why or Ajo and see what they would charge in an RV park. I plan to take a couple days to look at what is available in local Real Estate. Then will spend a few days in Oregon Pipe National Monument. I don't have any definite plans after that.

I am in the Ajo Library updating what I want for my web site. So far I have not been successful in finding a place that will let me do a file transfer (FTP) from a floppy disk. Anyway I left the free BLM camp and expect to go to Oregon Pipe National Monument tonight. Hopefully after I get this on my web site. If I have any free time this after noon I will talk with a few Realtors and see what prices are around here.

If you have suggestions, comments or ideas e-mail me. I would like to hear from you.
