"LaFarr Stuart" for a name
Last Up date on: 2003 November 14
LaFarr, "Where did you get a name like that?"
I have lived with that question for nearly 65 years. And, as far as I
know I don't share my name with anybody else.
To make a long story short--this all happened when I was too little to have a say. My dad liked the way they wrote "Farr" in a "Farr's Ice Cream Sign" that was along road. My mother wanted to name me "William Hugh" after my two grandfathers. I am glad she didn't win, there are enough: Bill's, Billy's, Will's and Willies. She objected to just: "Farr", she thought that I would be teased with such things as: "How far?", "Not far.", and "Too far". So, she had the "La" tacked on front. My father was very stubborn (I think he inherited that from his mother.) he and his family are the only ones who call me just: "Farr"; this is true even today.
It is nice to be find-able in a phone book. All things considered, I am glad my parents were creative. I sort of feel sorry for some of my closest friends who are named: Tom, Bill, Bob, Ed and Richard; to make things even worse they have last names like: Smith, Johnson, and Davis.
The next three links are here simply because they have my name
"LaFarr"
in them:
Offete Enterprises,
Inc. has reference to LaForth which is a Forth like
language that I did with Bob Smith back in about 1978.
I don't remember giving anything to the following, but for a while I was

Believe it or not there is a Dr. who's e-mail address starts out:
