What are FPGAs you ask. Click on FPGA in the heading above for a link to a site where this is answered far better than I can.

This morning I got got the following email from Ed.
I mounted the components on the plastic board that LaFarr bought
for us. And here is the evidence.

Comments:
   1) note that I am too chicken to remove the blue protective sheet

   2) the picture shows that the peripheral board is NOT
perpendicular to the rest of the assembly. This was NOT intentional.

   3) the SRAM is disconnected to permit the temporary insertion of the
        7 segment LED board

Suggestions in mounting stuff
  1) use guide lines or pay attention
  2) I turned everything "upside down" so that I could see the
holes of the support legs through the plastic, and drilled
a little bit into the plastic - then lifted the plastic away from
the support leg and completed the holes for each component.
  3) attaching each component as drilled.
Here is the photo he attached: Ed's FPGA boards

Randy and his dad, Ed are both engineers. Quite possibly I am "Over My Head"? But, maybe I'll learn something.

If you click on the photo you will get to Randy's web site where he is doing a great job of recording, and explaining our progress.

If you have suggestions, comments or ideas e-mail me. I would like to hear from you.
