This is mainly for me, so I can keep track of changes if I want to reverse any.
A continual problem in maintaining a web site is keeping links
current.
If you find any "dead links" I would be grateful if you
would let me know. (At the bottom of every page is an "Email to me"
link.)
I find Government sites extremely frustrating. It seems they are
forever changing the names of departments and functions, hence the names
of directories in their web pages. At times I wonder if they have
nothing better to do with their time?
The Latest Changes are on top.
This will include date (YY-MM-DD) the change was made.
- Thu 04-03-11 I got a page about the new
Motorcycle.
- I bought an
HP 5650 Printer
based on the assumption that if it uses HP's PCL (Printer Control
Language) it should print ASCII text when it is sent to the parallel
port. It turns out I was right, but nobody I could reach at HP knew
that! The road has been bumpy, but the printer works fine from DOS 6.2
without ever loading ANY drivers from HP!
- I got an email about "Touch Screen" voting. I wrote my
thoughts and put them at:
www.zyvra/lafarr/vote.htm
with a link under "My Rantings".
- Wed 04-02-18 I am starting to use the <STYLE> tag in my HTML
pages. This makes it much easier for me to change font size in the
entire document. It was a pain to use larger fonts in tables.
The effects you will notice are:
- For the present the font is larger.
- All normal text paragraphs will have the first line indented.
Your comments and thoughts would be appreciated.
- Sat 04-02-07 I had put some Balloon photos up but with no links
to them. I thought I would eliminate many, but other fires have
burned brighter, so I decided to have a link "New" photos to the balloon
index in the title line.
- Sun 04-01-04 Added links to page with photo and links to FPGA
adventures.
- Fri 04-01-02 I added a page containing the email I sent about the
Fujitsu rebate rejection. The best way to get to it would be to click on
the link either at the top or bottom of
My Bad Companies
page. Or if you have already seen that you can go directly at:
Fujitsu email.
- Sat 03-12-27 There is now a couple pages about companies I
like and dislike, with links on my main index page. Also I have added a
reply to one of my "rants".
- Sun 03-11-23 I added a link to my
Euclidian Algorithm
and Continued Fractions examples. Which is something I prepared for
a talk where I wanted to show the use of Remainders.
- Sat 03-11-15 I decided to put some text about Iraq I had saved 9
months ago on a web page. It is interesting but without solutions to the
present situation.
- Fri 03-11-14 I recompiles the older pages to make the font sizes
match the newer pages. There were no other changes made.
- Mon 03-11-10 I added to "my rantings" a page explaining how to
find integer solutions
for the equation:
x2 + y2 = z2
- Tue 03-11-04 I added a link to a Forth Site where I am scheduled to
give a short presentation, on 22 November.
- Mon 03-11-02 I put in a GPS trail map of a ride 6 of us took while
in southern Idaho mid October 2003. Latter may add a few photos.
- Thu 03-09-25 added a bit more about Assembly Programs under "Interest".
Put a link to Maxine.com on my main page, there are some fun cartoons
at that site.
- Mon 03-09-22 I decided I had made the text fonts a bit too big, so
I reduced them one size; but at the moment I am keeping the larger size
in tables. Put in a link to Virus web site.
- Wed 03-09-10 Added my "blurb" about the
change from using plants
such as wood to
provide our energy needs.
- Mon 03-09-08 I decided I should use slightly larger fonts. All
pages updated after today will have the larger fonts.
- Sat 03-09-06 Changed "Chicken with Words" to make it play the tune
when the words are displayed.
??This may only work on Microsoft
Browsers?
Made the table in my main "Music" page display in two columns.
- Sat 03-08-30 put in a link to Mayo Clinic on home page under
companies I like. It is a great place for medical information.
-
Sat 03-08-30 First two paragraphs of an article by
Patrick J. Buchanan about our problems in Iraq.
- Wed 03-08-27 An article from the Washington Times about
Government Cost Over-runs and no one is held
accountable.
-
Blurb from Jewish World Review - August 14, 2003 about
Gray Davis' spending in California.
- Thu 03-08-21 I added copies of some political pages near the top
of my "Blurbs" near the bottom of my home page.
- Sat 03-07-12 Moved my history of computers link to home page.
Added to my Opinions page a blurb about
Nature's Rules
for animal life. Actually, it has links to three pages I haven't
completed. Would like you to email me your thoughts on this one.
- Fri 03-07-11 Put a header link in the home page for web sites of
friends and relatives. Previously, this was in the Interests page.
Also remove a couple dead links. People sometimes abandon old web sites
when they get a new host.
- Fri 03-07-04 added a photo and a couple lines at the bottom of:
My Toys
page to show off my latest "Toy".
- Mon 03-06-09 put a link to John W. Dean's writings. At the top of
the main page, and
here. John
Dean was made famous with the Nixon WaterGate impeachment proceedings.
- Sun 03-06-08 I set my camera to produce 640x480 pixel photos, which
makes .jpg files that are about 60K bytes; so they should download
faster.
Here is a sample page. There is also a link to
this on my Home page.
- Fri 03-06-06 11:26:44 added in "My rantings" a page about the
National Debt.
- Fri 03-06-06 I made the main page date a link to this page instead
of a "Latest Tune". The
page that was "Recent latest tunes" will evolve to be links to where I
found the MIDI files.
- Fri 03-06-06 Fixed links (made work!) to: Energy, My Lehmer Chain,
and the documentation of my Lehmer Chain Simulation program.
- Thu 03-06-05 I added a second photo of my motorcycle.
- Wed 03-06-04 Fixed a bug in my BIO that made the photos quit
displaying. Now the photos will display.
If you have suggestions, comments or ideas
e-mail me.
I would like to hear from you.
