In addition to the problems the world has, the United States has other serious problems, mostly caused by the government we elect.

• Decline in student knowledge, I don't think the schools are to blame.
• Un-informed voters about what their government is doing.
• Albert Einstein was not happy about US Government actions.
• Terrorism against the USA.
• National Debt will probably exceed 8 trillion before Christmas 2005.
• Iraq ? Isn't helping the debt, this is a pessimistic out look made over two and a half years ago.
• Andy Rooney's 60-Minute piece on: "Too Many Weapons".
• Government Growth. As government grows, freedom goes.
• Crime and Immigration being ignored by the Federal Government.

From 1949 - 1957 J. Bracken Lee was Governor of Utah. He was a very colorful and controversial figure. He pointed out that government can be small and only take care of those things individuals cannot manage like: roads and law enforcement. And, let the people keep most of their earnings and take care of themselves. The other extreme, was to have a large government which dictates and takes everything from the people, and as the government desires it takes care of all the needs of the people. It doesn't matter what you call these governments. At the time we thought the first was Democracy and the second was Communism.

In my opinion, in the USA, government went out of control when it got into the business of "Redistribution of the Wealth". Taxing one person to give it to someone else. I think this started when Roosevelt created make work projects, and Social Security. From then till now the US Government has become more and more "Communistic". It was Eisenhower that set up HEW (Health Education & Welfare). Today it is not known by "HEW" but it is now the largest expense of the US Government. Check the links.

Blame For Katrina Hurricane problems, is all wrong in my opinion. It was a disaster caused by much earlier US Government actions. But nobody has the courage to tell the truth.
