This was taken in my backyard, Sat 2003-May-31, when I had about 100 miles on it.
Still fighting the Olympus Camera.
Yes, I still need to work on my waste line!
I look too much like a barrel.
It is a Suzuki GZ250, a single cylinder 250 cc, four cycle engine. It is the smallest one of the "Cruiser" style in their line. It weighs around 325 pounds, so it is a bit heavy for me to load into my van. I bought an aluminium ramp that is 7 feet long. But still, even if I can push it up, what do I do when I am standing on the ground and the front wheel is in the van and the back wheel is still on the ramp? I am in the process of trying to rig up a block and tackle so I can do it by myself. At the dealership there was enough help to do it with just manpower.
The seat height is listed as only 27.8 inches.
I looked at "DualSport" combination dirt bikes which have a headlight and turn signals to make them more than just off road bikes. They have more ground clearance, and shock absorbers with a lot more travel for rough terrain use. But, their looks with plastic fenders that are about 6 inches away from the tires didn't appeal to me.
Woops, I couldn't resist so I got a
Suzuki Dirt Bike.
From a practical point of view, the combination: Suzuki DR200SE would have
been better for my use. But, I liked something that looked more like a
motorcycle looked when I was a kid. I have to admit I chose this one
more for appearance than functionality. I also wanted a single cylinder
because I like the sound when they are running quite slow, so you can
hear each firing.
My 1987 Toyota Pickup is in the background. It has 253+
thousand miles, and just to the right of the handlebar you can see a bit
of rust.
.
Well, it wasn't very clear on the above photo,
so here is a closeup.
Would you believe, that is all I can find as a logo!
