I don't think it will ever be possible to prove or disprove many things:
- Is there a Super Natural?
- Was intelligence involved to create life?
- Was intelligence involved to create the universe?
- Is there life after death?
My thoughts. You might not agree
The basis for religion is: Life after death, and a desire to be in
good standing with the Super Natural. Because of all the wars
that have been fought over religion, I question if religions don't do
more harm than good. Maybe I am an
Antireligionist.
I don't consider myself an Atheist, and used to call myself Agnostic.
With the multitude of human diseases, and natural disasters such as:
hurricanes, tsunamis, and earthquakes; it is silly to say: "God loves
us." Would a loving God have created: Mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, head
lice, polio, small pox, spotted fever, Lyme disease, West Nile Virus,
and a new flu each year? But, it would be self-defeating for a
religion, to preach that the Super Natural hates, or doesn't give a
damn, about us. If there is a "God" I don't think there is one bit
of evidence the Super Natural gives a hoot about man and his well
being.
- If there is a Super Natural, I don't think anyone on earth has
any connection with, or real knowledge of the Super Natural. If anyone
has any supernatural connection, why don't they demonstrate in some
testable way, such as going to Las Vegas and winning money for any "good
cause" of their choosing? The last I knew, Las Vegas has no rules
against praying for divine help.
- I guess every religion has its lore in some written form. I
have only a limited knowledge of the Christian Bible. But, it is
impossible to believe it is in any way divinely inspired. There are
simply too many errors. (Unless the Super Natural's intent is to
deceive?) One that is very obvious, and gave Galileo hell, is: "The
earth is the center of the universe". That was thought up by someone
who had never looked through a telescope, or seen a GPS!
- If God created the Universe, one might ask: Out of what? And, who
created God? Was there a time before the Universe was created?
- Is there a Heaven, or life after death? It is very comforting to
think we never die but just go through some sort of door-way to a new
place. But what about this new place Christians like to call Heaven:
- Is there any vision? Can people see? Is there light? Then there
must be dark? Do they have eyes? Do they have ears?
- Is there sound? Can people talk? If so there must be air there
for their vocal cords to work. And they must inhale.
- Can people there recognize one another? How: By looks, age, weight,
size, complexion, and gender?
- Are there people there who died before we
were born? How will we recognize them? Will they be old? Will they be
young?
- Is there anything like age in heaven?
- Do people there wear clothes? If so what are they made of: Wool,
Cotton, Nylon or something else?
- Is there any gravity, so they can: stand, sit, walk, jump, run and
fall?
- Do people there eat, and breathe. If so can they starve or
suffocate? Also if they eat: Do they have to go to the bathroom?
- Is there water there? If they breathe, and eat; they must
drink.
- Are there animals there? Pets, horses and what about bugs? Even
virus? Diseases?
I can only conclude, that if there is a heaven there is nothing there we
can imagine or recognize.
