I don't usually think of great cooks comming from Britain. But Gina is
not the typical Brit. She can produce one of the best meals you will
find. So, I am grateful to have her personally developed Recipe; and it
is also quite simple and easy to make.
- Here are the ingredients
- 3/4 lb. Minced Beef Hamburger
- 1 whole onion chopped
- 1 1/2 tsps fresh chopped Garlic -- 3 cloves
Optionally, add fresh mushrooms
- Fry Garlic & Onion with a little oil to stop sticking (about 5
minutes)
- Add Minced Beef (cook until brown)
- Add the following ingredients
- 1 regular can chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Tomato Puree Tomato Paste
- 2 heaped tsps Mixed herbs
Gina brings hers from England, and it is an important ingredient.
We will have to experiment to find something similar. ???
- Shake - salt & pepper
- 1 Glass Red Wine -- Cheapest tastes exactly the same
- 3 tsps sugar
- Simmer for about 15 minutes with lid on stirring occasionally
- If mixture is a bit watery add 2 tsps Cornstarch mixed with a little
cold water in a cup before adding. This will thicken Mix
- Spaghetti -- use only Barilla Italian (Can be bought in Wal*Mart).
Other brands are Mushy -- Yuk! Cooking instructions on package.
- What you don't use (Bolognese) put in bags for freezer.
If you like Lasagna, this Bolognese is the basis!
