The son of the first fellow I shared an office with when I moved
to California is: John Carlsen. John lives in Austin, Texas and has a
business there called:
Syncopated Systems.
- Jim Howell
is an old friend and better Mathematician than I will ever be. We date back
to the days when we were putting our own computers together using a Motorla
6800 Micro processor. In those days we all knew what was going on in
our computers! I know younger people can't comprehend that. Anyway I just
recently found his home page.
- Melvin Marter is a friend I met through the Womacks several years
ago.
He has a web page
and photos of an interesting "Project" making a Solar Cooker. He made it
with cardboard, and aluminium foil. On Christmas day 2008 he was able to
boil water with it in Redding California.
- A neighbor, here in Quartzsite, started a Concrete business. Now it is
run by his son, but still under the
"Bobby Jones"
name. They have an interesting web site with lots of good photos.
- I have a acquaintance, Dennis, who spent some time in Africa, and is
a suburb photographer. Between him and his son they have a great web
site for anyone interested in
Africa, and photos
Dennis has taken.

Polar Pure Iodine,
to treat drinking water is made by a friend and I think it is the best
way to purify water if you suspect that the available water is less than
sanitary. (Of course, boiling water certainly works, but requires fuel
and a stove.)

Some friends, Wayne and Jannet Womack, run a lodge at a Ski Resort in Montana.
They are located quite near Glacier National Park. Their units are
geared for 6 to 8 or more people. It would be a great
place for a group for a summer vacation. Possibly a small family
reunion? Click on the photo to check out their web site.

I became quite proficient at SCUBA diving thanks to
John Goodrich.
I have gone to Mexico several times with he and his wife,
but now they have moved to Fort Bragg. Fortunately he has a web site,
but San Jose won't be quite as nice without them.
- Here is a link to
Nate Campi's Home Page. Nate's
father was one of the people I met in the Aqua-Tutus SCUBA club. In
fact I was assisting when Nate and his mother took the club's SCUBA
class.
- Today, Nate is an internet expert. His web site should be very useful to
anyone who is, like me, trying to get a web site going. Someday I
would like to have a Blog, but first I need to do some studying!
