Unfortunately, we have a government that since Franklin Roosevelt has found its politicians can be guaranteed an endless carer if they give away the tax payers money. Today it has got so bad that virtually every bill has a ton of "Pork Barrel" give away's added. To insure they will be reelected.
From President Bush down to the local city mayors they have been
handing out money without any concern what so ever about where the money
is coming from. It is as if they think the National Debt is free money.
We should immediately impeach every elected person
who suggests or votes for any increased spending.
They are sacrificing the future of this country for immediate gratification and satisfaction. The politicians of both the Republican and Democratic parties are equally guilty. The interest on the nearly 8 trillion dollar debt is now costing so much, about 350 billion per year, we are fast approaching the point where it consumes all the income from taxes. Well before this happens foreign countries will pull their investments out, probably buying Euro Dollars. When this happen the American Economy will collapse, dollars will be worthless, and most likely there will be no "law and order" in the United states. We used to think increasing the National debt only put the burden on future generations. But, we could soon find out: We are the future generation!
Just in case you think the Republicans have a conservative economic policy: In 1980, when Ronald Reagan was elected the National Debt was under 1 trillion dollars. That includes: The Civil War, WWW-I, Roosevelt's depression bail out, WWW-II, Korea, and Viet Nam. Twelve years later at the end of the Bush administration the debt was in excess of 4 trillion. Quadruple what it was from George Washington to Reagan!
The Clinton administration tried to make us think they reduced the debt. While it did not grow as fast as it did under Reagan-Bush it still went up. Check the Treasury Department web site. But, apparently George W. Bush believe the Clinton administration, so much that he gave every American, wether they paid taxes or not, a $300 check! And, of course the debt has never increased as fast or as much as it has under this president.
Ross Perot in 1992 tried to point out the disaster of the debt. But, he didn't have a chance. He was not a member of the controlling parties.
