I got stopped by the local police for riding my moped. He said I have to license it and get insurance or the ticket will be $350. When we got the mopeds, I took them to Parker to register them and was told that if they could be ridden as a bicycle, I did not have to have a license. I wish they would make up their minds. Now, I have to put them in the truck and take them to Parker to be registered. The license will cost $4.50 each. For $9, I have to take a half day and waste that much fuel. It burns me that the MVD told me wrong in the first place. So, I had to ride it home like a bicycle in 98 degree heat all the way from Hwy 95 and Tyson Ave. That moped doesn't pedal like a bicycle! It was hard work and I thought I would pass out from the heat.
At first, I thought a crazy guy was trying to run me off the road. An older white, unmarked, Ford pickup passed me then pulled directly in front of me and stopped, blocking my way. When I tried to go around, he backed up and tried to ram me! I got scared and stopped and picked up a big rock to defend myself.
He jumped out with his hand on his 45 Automatic pistol and showed me his badge. He is Gary Worz, Sergeant, Quartzsite Police. If you see an old white Ford pickup behind you, watch out.
