The state is widening Hwy 95 a couple of miles north of Quartzsite so that there is a turn lane into and out of the long term parking area for RV's near Plumosa Road. That may cut down on some close calls and frantic braking when a motorhome decides to turn into the parking area.

The Safeway market in Parker has been remodeled. They made a second entrance at the west end of the store. There is now a genuine Starbucks Coffee shop at the front of the store. They widened the aisles but the store seems smaller now.

Steve sent his crew to fix the bad water leak on lot 15 this morning. We were without water for several hours but at least the leak is fixed. They even filled in the hole this time. That is a first! Steve also filled in around the big electrical power box that was sinking on lot 42 and one that was leaning pretty badly on Steve & Joan's lot next to us. Steve had his crew fill the holes with dirt and put new gravel around again. Looks good. He said he will wait for the sink hole in the street to quit sinking for a week or so then he will fix it. He said that there was a gig trench that was 8 feet wide and eleven feet deep there before the street was paved. It did not get compacted enough and is now settling. It is not a water leak.

I took him over to see the brick wall on lot 55. The back 8 or 10 feet fell into the wash. It did not wash out, it looks like the dirt was not compacted under it and it just sank into the ground and fell over into the wash. I will do my rounds again tomorrow to be sure that no more water leaks occurred because they turned the water on too quickly.

Most of the old trailers, half-ton vans, old school bus conversions, and junky old motorhomes have been removed from the Isaiah 58 Project property now. Yeah! A couple of the old crappy-looking motorhomes are now parked around the area in Love's parking lot, at Big Market, the Roadrunner market and along the road near the entrance to Q-Mtn Estates. A big tow truck was towing one away from the new Carl's Junior Hamburger place this morning.

We went to Parker to do some grocery shopping today and the highway is packed with motor homes and 5th wheels. Quartzsite is starting to fill up again. Both RV parks that are open are almost full and Silly Als Pizza place is packed every night now. The long lines at Love's and Pilot are back, and Main Street is almost gridlocked again. Most of the traffic is tourists I think, but Rainbow Acres is at least half full and town is much busier. Even the Post Office parking lot is crowded now. During June & July, there was virtually no traffic in town.

The weather is perfect today. Wish you were here.
