Quartzsite experienced a terrorist attack last Monday afternoon!!!! Homeland Security responded in full force!!

We saw the three police cars, the firetruck and the ambulance at the Post Office. The lot was blocked off and evacuated and two men were mopping the floor and the sidewalk outside.

The HazMat team had to clean up the chemical weaponry residue that the terrorists used in their attack! The fireman that told me all about the attack said that we missed the HazMat team in their bio-hazard suits if all we saw was the above mentioned units at the Post Office.

It seems that the "terrorist(s)" poured bleach into the collection boxes outside the Post Office and some in the inside slots then left the empty bleach bottle under the desk. Yep, bleach!! Plain ol' Clorox! Terrorist weapon! Bio-Hazard Chemical Killer Compound!!

And they call out the troops! They said it was a chemical terrorist attack on a Federal Facility. It probably cost us taxpayers thousands of dollars for this stupid prank. I hope they catch and prosecute the culprit(s) because they left the empty bleach bottle (complete with fingerprints, one would assume), so I'm sure thousands more dollars are being spent in crime lab analysis to catch the terrorist.

God forbid someone spills a can of Drano at Big Market or something. They might have to evacuate the whole county!!

Anyway, That is what all the excitement was Monday afternoon.

In other news, Steve bennett came over and talked to Gail and I last evening. He inspected the leaks and sink-hole. He said that he will take care of all the problems and have everything fixed in a few days.

Steve dropped another bomb-shell on us! I guess we got one of the very last Kool Kovers. We had him build one on our acre lot Monday.

He told us last night that he is closing down the business very shortly and is going to retire and move out of town to someplace in Oregon. Kool Kover (the business) is for sale for 2.2 million dollars. I wish I had the money. That place is like owning a money printing press. He said that he has enough money now, so he may as well retire and enjoy it. We told him that we agree. Life is too short. Have fun and travel while you are young enough to enjoy it. He has about 20 of his antique cars on display and for sale in his lot downtown next to his new auto parts and tire store. He is going to sell his new 6 acre estate too. What a shocker, but he deserves to retire and enjoy. We wished him all the best.

Later, Harvey & Gail
