As our non-renewable sources of energy are used up, we will all have to learn to use less and less. Some are obvious such as: better insulation and turning down thermostats. Including on hot water heaters. Many newer dishwashers have heaters so the water in the entire house doesn't have to be so hot As buyers become more concerned about energy use companies are starting to make more efficient products.
A few obvious ones are hybrid cars, and fluorescent lights, and better refrigerators.
For anyone interested in saving electrical energy you need to have a way to monitor how much power is being used by anything you plug in. I recommend: A "Watts Up" basic model, it is being sold today at Home Depot for $109. Probably you can find it for a bit less on the internet.
